It had been a very gray and rainy November in Portland and December was starting out the same way. I sat at my desk looking outside at the rain and decided to pick up the phone to see if I could book a flight to Cabo using my free roundtrip ticket on Alaska Airlines. I decided that Cabo would be a good place to go since Alaska flies there and I would call my vacation club to see if I could get a condo at Worldmark’s Coral Baja. It all came together and the next week I took off for a week in Cabo.
The studio condo was just perfect for one person. There was a fantastic view from the studio and a nice large balcony where I could sit out and eat my breakfast every morning.
I had the front desk call a taxi to take me to San Jose del Cabo several nights for dinner and to check out the shops. I ate dinner at The Tulip which my friend Kelly and I had discovered on our trip we had taken in 1999. I enjoyed talking with the ex-pat Canadian owners. Two years before their son had just graduated from culinary school and was working in the restaurant. He had moved on to some large resort’s restaurant and was doing very well.
El centro was nicely decorated for Christmas.
Next door to the condos is a trailer park. There is another one near Cabo San Lucas. Both have very well known popular restaurants.
