That is what Asus says about the little mini laptop, the Asus Eee 1000H N280. I ordered it last Sunday from Amazon and it arrived on Wednesday. That was super fast!
It is the perfect size for when I travel on vacation. I can check my email, read blogs, find things to do in the areas that I visit, etc.
I will be taking it on my next trip to Isla Mujeres. I already know all of the restaurants that provide free wireless internet access. I am hoping that the restaurant just a couple of doors down from where I stay has a strong enough wireless signal that I can connect to it from my hotel room. I eat breakfast at that restaurant 3 out of every 5 days anyway so I wouldn’t feel like I am stealing their internet. It will be nice to go have a drink in the evening and get on line while waiting for dinner at some of the other places that have wireless access.I hear that the new Cafe Mogagua is a great place to sit, relax and people watch while accessing the internet. I have not heard great things about their breakfasts though and only mixed reviews about dinner. But I have heard great things about their banos. That is an important thing to know when traveling in Mexico.
I took Tara her mini laptop today and she was thrilled but at the same time disappointed because she says now Kelly will never get off of the computer. He is a gamer and a computer hog.

Wow. Laptops just keep getting smaller. This would be great to have something so portable to travel with.
For checking email, reading blogs, etc. it should be fine. It’s not like I am going to be writing a novel on it.
Can’t wait to hear how you like it after you’ve taken it on a trip….
My friend Denise bought the same computer and is using it as her primary. Jan of Jan and Bruce just got home from Isla and used their Asus mini a lot while there. It is huge compared to me checking my email on my phone. It will do just fine. I prefer to have some privacy when online unlike you get at most of the internet cafes on Isla.
For what it’s worth, I think Cafe M sucks. While quite a stunning addition to the Isla landscape, it doesn’t deserve our patronage. The wait staff appear to have been trained to be rude, inattentive and indifferent. The coffee, once you get somebody’s attention to grudgingly bring it to you, is tasteless. It comes in 3 different sizes…with prices to match. We were so disgusted by the experience that we didn’t even order food. There are just too many other great breakfast places around to give this one any more attention. Chicago Deli comes immediately to mind.
Wayne,
Thanks for the heads up. I only have heard a couple people saying that the food was just OK at the Cafe. Chicago Deli wasn’t open when I was last on Isla. I will give them a try. My favorite breakfast spot is Elements of the Island just down from Maria Leticia.
Ahhhhh! it looks just like mine! Hope you love it!!!
So far the little time I spent on it it is just fine. I don’t need mega computing while traveling.
