Kauai – 2009 vacation coming soon!

Tara, her husband Kelly and I will going to Kauai in less then two weeks. Kelly has never been to any of the Hawaiian islands. He is going to love Kauai. There is great snorkeling, beautiful beaches and lots of really fresh seafood.

I have two timeshare condos reserved in the complex right next door to where my friend Karen and her husband used to live. We will be in Poipu Beach with a good snorkeling spot right across the street.

These are some of my photos from 2000 and 2007 visits.

Oops, wrong caption this is Wailua Falls not Opaeka.

  1. Have a great trip!

  2. Great pictures, I love the waterfall. Hope you all have a great time!

    • Oh I am sure we will have a great time. I thought we might go on a helicopter tour but they run $190 – $200+ for 50 – 60 minutes. I took a helicopter tour once that was 1/2 price because I sat through a timeshare pitch. That was one Nov. when I was there for two weeks and a rainy day with nothing else to do.

  3. mother nature, and all her beauty !! The helicopter ride doesnt sound that bad pricewise. 3 people, a dollar a minute. My dentist is about $10 a minute, when i get an exam(grr). Its great the 3 of you are doing stuff together. And we want pics of you doing the limbo at the luau(sp). Do they have Bimbo Dogs in Hawaii?

    • It’s $200 or so per person. So that makes it $3 per minute per person. Since I would be the payee I am going to say no. I would rather do something that I haven’t done before like a hot air balloon ride later this summer about an hour from us.
Limbo is not Hawaiian and no Bimbo dogs but lots of Spam including at McDonalds.

  4. ok, i thought it was for the chopper. $600 IS way to much.

    • Yes it is. We could sit through a timeshare preso and get a discount but I am not wiling to do that on a one week vacation. Especially since it really is more like only 5 days with to and from the travel days to and form.

  5. WOW! What beautiful pictures. I haven’t been to Hawaii in 10 years and it makes me want to go back.
