I really like the look of these shrubs along the side yard of this bungalow. This house recently sold and very quickly considering the economy in Oregon is 2nd worst in the nation.
The front yard looks messy in this photo but it really is very beautiful. The former owners were related to the man down the street who has a commercial landscaping business. My daughter is thinking they might like to do something like this if they cut down the large fir tree in the front of their house.
These are two different yards in the neighborhood both using sunflowers along a fence kind of like a privacy wall.

Those sunflowers seem to do the trick for a privacy fence. I can’t seem to get mine to grow that tall on the east coast. In Oklahoma I could get them to grow 8-10 feet.
I told my daughter and her husband that they should plant sunflowers along their back fence next year. Either that or bamboo. But bamboo can get out of hand if not planted correctly.
