This is another interesting email I got recently. I made an omelet Saturday morning following these directions. I used Egg Beaters instead of real eggs though. I added smoked cheddar, asparagus and sliced roast beef. My bag tended to want to float some so I turned it over every few minutes. It was pretty good and no pan to clean up.
Subject: Ziploc Omelet
No muss no fuss no cleanup.
YES!!!!!!!
ONLY QUESTION I HAVE IS THE ZIPLOC BAG IS IT A SPECIAL BAG OR ANY ZIPLOC???? The answer is YES – Use the Freezer Bags – ANY Freezer bag.
ZIPLOC OMELET
Crack 2 eggs into the bag (not more than 2) shake to combine them.
Put out a variety of ingredients such as: cheeses, ham, onion, green pepper, tomato, hash browns, salsa, etc.
Add prepared ingredients of choice to bag and shake. Make sure to get the air out of the bag and zip it up.
Place the bags into rolling, boiling water for exactly 13 minutes. You can usually cook 6-8 omelets in a large pot.
For more, make another pot of boiling water.
Open the bags and the omelet will roll out easily.
Nice to serve with fresh fruit and coffee cake.
Imagine having these ready the night before, and putting the bag in boiling water while you get ready.
And in 13 minutes, you got a nice omelet for a quick breakfast!!!
(these are not photosof the omelet I made)
